Update: Lighting upgrade in the Town Gardens

Update: Due to the bad weather we have had recently, the installation of the new lighting has been delayed until Monday 22nd June for Lilford Place and Monday 29th June for the Amphitheatre.
Following a delay from our suppliers due to COVID-19, we are happy to confirm that our new bollard lighting for the Town Gardens has now arrived.
The upgrade programme will begin on Tuesday 9 June, and is due to take approximately 3 weeks (weather permitting).
The electrician will begin to disconnect the lights on the Lilford Place side of the Town Gardens in order to prepare for the new foundations to be poured. This will take around one week to set and we will then have the electrician return to connect the new lights.
We are aiming to begin the same works on the amphitheatre from 17 June 2019, therefore there will be no lighting in the Town Gardens as the works cross over. We anticipate that the lighting on the Lilford Place side will be switched back on by Friday 19 June and in the amphitheatre by Friday 26 June.
Please can we ask that you respect the cones that will be placed over any exposed cables. Whilst the electricity will not be live, these safety measures have been put in place to keep the community and pets safe.
